Une nouvelle nuit, Harold décide d’aller se promener sur une corde tendue. Il avance délicatement comme un funambule, et se trouve au dessus d’une piste de cirque. Harold perd l’équilibre, mais heureusement, à l’aide de son crayon violet, il peut tracer une courbe qui l’amortit… une accueillante trompe d’éléphant ! De l’éléphant, le voici sur un cheval, puis dans le rôle d’un clown. Les acrobates reprennent la main jusqu’à l’homme canon. Mais ce dernier manque à l’appel…
Dans ce quatrième tome, le petit héros philosophe nous entraîne dans l’univers joyeux et parfois étrange du cirque. Il se ravit du spectacle qui lui est proposé. Toujours muni de son crayon violet, il devra trouver des solutions pour sauver le spectacle, surmontant ses appréhensions.
