Number 5 has broken a record, 6 metres, says the referee... Virginie Morgand created this book to teach small children to count through sport. As with the ABC du marin which took us on a lovely boat, the animals lead us through their Olympic games: bear weightlifting, fast felines, hippos in leotards, watched over by a referee on a giraffe. Everything is in motion and we sprint to the end of the book...

Attention, à vos marques, prêts ? 2 coups de sifflets pour le départ, il y a 1 coupe à gagner. On a déjà mis 3 haies à terre sur 4 lignes tracées au sol. Un record est battu par le numéro 5, « 6 mètres » nous dit l’arbitre…
Virginie Morgand a créé ce livre pour apprendre aux plus petits à compter sur un thème sportif. Les animaux nous entraînent à leur suite dans leurs jeux olympiques : ours haltérophile, félins rapides, hippopotames en justaucorps, tout cela sous l’œil d’un arbitre monté sur une girafe. Tout est en mouvement et on court vite vite jusqu’à la fin du livre… pour le recommencer au début.
