L’histoire commence ainsi : « Je n’ai pas toujours été moi. Avant d’être moi, je n’étais pas dans moi. J’étais ailleurs. [...] Mais je n’étais pas le roi dans moi. Pas encore. [...] Dans moi, c’était la nuit. » Les interrogations et incompréhensions prennent l’apparence d’un ogre. Il faudra l’affronter pour trouver ce que l’on cherche. Et ce que l’on trouve, à la fin, ce sont des mots de toutes les couleurs. Pour pouvoir enfin dire les choses, parler de ce qui fait peur, et parler aussi du bonheur.
