Ma mère est une panthère

My Mom is a panther... especially when she’s angry. When we’re late, she’s a jaguar... who turns into an orangutan when she has free time.

It’s almost in a twinkle of an eye when the child’s mother becomes a dolphin, a monkey, a wolf or a crab. Each situation has its own special metamorphosis. When the panther is away, the mother — the father or any adult parenting — is all the animals at the same time. And for the child, he’ll be whatever he wants to be.
In her new picture book, Malika Doray renews her world by introducing
a human child as the main character but she doesn’t forget our different animal facets.

Ma mère est une panthère... surtout quand elle est en colère. Quand nous sommes en retard, maman est un jaguar... qui, quand elle a le temps... fait l’orang-outan.

De panthère à jaguar, il n’y a (presque) qu’un pas, mais la mère au centre de l’histoire devient tour à tour dauphin, singe, louve ou crabe. À chaque situation sa métamorphose ! Fini la panthère, cette mère est tous les animaux à la fois. Quant à l’enfant, qu’il soit fille, garçon ou juste un être humain, lui aussi pourra être ce qu’il veut, quand il veut !
Dans ce nouvel album, Malika Doray renouvelle son univers en mettant en scène un enfant d’humain, mais sans oublier toutes nos facettes animales.
